The IUSO MGBA54 pickup is designed for Mustang and Bullet style basses, offering a perfect balance of power, definition, and dynamic response.

Built with Alnico 5 pole pieces and vulcanized fiber flatwork, it ensures structural strength and a stable, musical tone. The 42 AWG Poly-Nylon wire, combined with traditional handwinding techniques, contributes to a detailed sound with well-controlled harmonics.

From a tonal perspective, the IUSO MGBA54 delivers a compact and punchy character, with solid and controlled lows, present mids that help the bass cut through the mix, and clear yet never harsh highs. The result is a vintage-inspired but well-defined tone, with a fast attack and strong articulation, ideal for players seeking the classic Mustang/Bullet “growl” without sacrificing clarity.

Wax potting reduces microphonics, ensuring reliability and stability even at high volumes, making this pickup suitable for both studio and live use.

Note: this pickups use the larger reissue Mustang style covers (e.g. Mustang JMJ) (pickguard cutout for 18.8 mm x 44 mm covers with a pole-piece mounting spacing of 50.7 mm). The body must be routed with the appropriate cavity. The pole spacing is 19 mm. Please check the dimensions before ordering. A custom version for vintage models can be made upon request.
